Deadline is reporting that Netflix has added a new name to its live-action Assassin’s Creed series. Lola Petticrew has joined the cast, according to confirmation shared by Variety. She will star alongside Toby Wallace, who was previously announced as part of the series.
Details about Petticrew’s role are being kept under wraps. Netflix has not revealed which faction or historical setting her character may be tied to, keeping the focus on the casting news rather than story specifics for now.
The series is being developed as a long-form adaptation of Ubisoft’s long-running game franchise. Production details remain limited, but the project continues to move forward with key creative leadership already in place.
What the Series Will Focus On
Netflix’s official description frames the show as a story centered on a secret war between two rival factions. One group seeks to shape humanity’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will.
That premise mirrors the core conflict of the games, which revolve around the Assassins and the Templars. Across the franchise, both sides use advanced technology to access genetic memories, allowing them to relive moments from different historical periods in search of powerful artifacts known as Pieces of Eden.
The series is expected to follow characters across major historical events, though Netflix has not confirmed which eras will appear first.
Petticrew’s Recent Work and Creative Team
Petticrew recently appeared in the FX drama Say Nothing and the Channel 4 series Trespasses. Her television work also includes Three Families, Anne Boleyn, and Bloodlands. On the film side, she has appeared in Tuesday, Wolf, and Dating Amber.
The Assassin’s Creed series is being led by Roberto Patino and David Wiener, who serve as creators, showrunners, and executive producers. Ubisoft Film & Television is also closely involved, with Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, and Genevieve Jones listed as executive producers, alongside Matt O’Toole.
